Hurricane Milton Disaster Relief Fund 

When Hurricane Milton hit the east coast of Florida weeks after Hurricane Helene, destructive tornadoes struck, causing severe damage to homes, infrastructure, and critical services. There have been over 20 deaths, thousands of people are facing food, water, and medical care shortages, and hundreds of thousands are still without power.


Make a one-time donation to help make an impact today! As a result of your donation, Hurricane Milton Disaster Relief Fund will be able to provide essential relief services, including:

  • Immediate response- Providing essentials like food, potable water, medical care, hygiene supplies, temporary shelters, and mental health services Long-term recovery.

  • Supporting community rebuilding efforts, re-establishing access to education, livelihoods, healthcare services, and future aid to rebuild lives after the devastation.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are a vital part of Open Arms for Fire Victims. From assisting with home repairs to lending a hand in our Food Pantry, Clothing Closet, and Job Workshops, learn more about the rewarding ways to give back at OAFFV. We'll provide you with the training and knowledge. Join our growing community of volunteers.

  • SUPPORT GROUP- Our support groups meet online monthly. The support group creates a safe space for you and others to relate to each other. Grief can feel very lonely, even when you have loved ones around. Sharing your sorrow with others who have experienced similar losses can help. Our support group includes people from all over the world.
  • INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING- Individual counseling is a one-on-one discussion between the counselor and client who is the person seeking treatment. The two form an alliance, relationship or bond that enables trust and personal growth. Individual sessions is offered online or in person.
  • FAMILY COUNSELING- Family counseling is a lot like individual counseling, but with two or more people. Grief impacts everyone so differently and sometimes expressing those feelings with family in a safe space helps. Family sessions are offered online or in person.
  • FOOD PANTRY- OAFFV offers a choice food pantry. Clients are able to shop the aisles of the pantry at their own pace. This allows clients to choose from a wide variety of fresh meats, produce, baked goods, and boxed and canned items that best fit the unique needs of their family.
  • CLOTHING CLOSET/HOUSEWARES- OAFFV offers new and gently used clothing for the whole family, as well as a wide variety of household goods, small appliances, books, furniture, and more.
  • HOME REPAIRS- OAFFV'S Home Repair Program fills an important need for alleviating substandard living conditions for people who need critical repairs to live safely at home but cannot afford the repairs on their own. Our program is limited to low-income clients who were involved  in house or apartment fires and tornados in our service area.
  • ADULT EDUCATION /JOB SEARCH- Job readiness, and job placement assistance for adult interested in a new career. 
  • EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE- OAFFV is providing financial assistance for those in need of basic needs, medical, and transportation.
