OUR VISION

We hope to grow our network and create a safe and open space for individuals AND families who have lost a loved one to a fire or other disaster.  We help cultivate healing and hope while allowing people to come as they are.

ABOUT US

Founded by LaTonya Talton in 2023, Open Arms for Fire Victims is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families displaced by residential fires, floods, supports First Responder incidents, and provides food  to communities effected by natural disasters across Houston and other Texas areas.  Having worked in humanitarian disaster relief, project development, mission work and the collaboration of sustainable projects in Latin America and the United States, Ms. Talton felt the need to work independently with a group of like-minded individuals to help empower others to forge their way out of poverty.

Our organization has been created to work with vulnerable and at risk clients who experienced tremendous loss; provide food assistance to impoverished communities and create self-sustainable technical projects which would provide a source of income and empower people to move forward. We work primarily through local churches and humanitarian organizations.  We strive to teach people vital job skills, create employment opportunities, and improve their access to healthy food and living necessities.
